DESCRIPTION:\nJoin us in making a paper mache Mannat tree\, which will be t
 he centrepiece of our exhibition.\n\n\n\nOur residency is around the theme
  of Mannat منّت\, a word with Persian and Sanskrit roots that roughly 
 signifies a wish\, intention\, or hope in the Urdu language. It is a colou
 red fabric that connects the past to the future. It is a symbolic gesture 
 of exchange that involves tying colourful strips of cloth to trees near sa
 cred places of Sindh.&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nThe drop-in at The Ground Floor is fre
 e to attend\, and snacks and tea will be provided.\n\n\n\nWe gratefully ac
 knowledge support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Art
 s Council and of course\, the team at Jumblies.\n
