Sculptures
As part of Reth aur Reghistan, our goal is to create sculptures inspired by the stories we collected. In our intended book, each sculpture pairs with a poem. Here are some creatures, figures, and characters.
Our Materials
As artists who are most familiar with painting and drawing, we decided to challenge ourselves not use any paint. So far, we’ve been successful. We’ve always been hoarders – keeping everything from empty toilet rolls to dried moss to use for a potential art project. Every time we were tempted to use paint or pen, one of us produced an alternative.
Most of our sculptural ideas emerged from the materials we had collected. Each material has its own story, and we wanted to share some of those with you.
Our process
Our studio was our living room, where we spread out our materials and set up a photography area. Take a peek at our work process.
